Fringe Jazz Fest 2018 - here we go!

6th edition of Fringe Jazz Fest kicks off on friday. We are looking forward to presents the biggest and most visionary musicprogram so far with international and Danish stars in all kinds of style related to New orleans. Get ready to dance, party, drink nice cold beer and drinks from Southern Comfort, eat soulfood fro El Jefe and much more. See everyone soon!

Women of Jazz to Fringe Jazz Fest

Fringe Jazz Fest loves women of jazz and have invited some world class favourites. The female afrobeat wonders Kokoroko from London underground scene will hit the stage July 10th, innovative funk/soul/hiphop/spokenword sensations Tank and The Bangas from New Orleans, soul queen Tricia Boutté (Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, D'Angelo), power woman Meschiya Lake and former JazzDanmark artist in residence, Sasha Masakowski. In addition to that all time favourite actor and singer Daimi from Denmark.

We are now ready with the full festival program. It's is gonna be a blast! Fringe Jazz Fest presents traditional jazz, funk, blues, brass band and afrobeat, but also electronic bounce-beats and grime. Meet bands and artists like Danish legends as Daimi and Wonderbrazz, the female afrobeat wonders Kokoroko from London and the best upcoming electronic musicians from New Orleans. In addition to that some of New Orleans’ biggest names like Tank and the Bangas, soul queen Tricia Boutté, power woman Meschiya Lake and saxophone star James Martin.

About JBL Music

JBL Music presents the BEST of young funky New Orleans music from Denmark and New Orleans. The company is promoting a handfull of bands and international artist and is also organizing some of the BIGGEST New Orleans music events in Copenhagen
There is a wave of young Danish bands inspired by the new sounds from New Orleans. FUNKY brass band, Mardi Gras indian music and 2nd line grooves are now a big part of the Danish jazz scene and JBL Music is presenting some of the best bands in Denmark playing these styles and organizes MAIN events in Copenhagen related to this style of music.
JBL Music is run by musicians and jazz entrepreneur and organizer Johan Bylling Lang. He was born 1981 in Denmark and started playing music as 13 years old and graduated as Cand. musicae and saxophonist and music teacher 2008 from Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium (RMC) in Copenhagen. While making a living as musician in various bands, Johan Bylling Lang also puts alot of love and energy into organizing events.
