Tank and the Bangas headlines Fringe Jazz Fest 2018

Big news from Fringe Jazz Fest. The mighty funk/hiphop/spokenword/R'n'B band from New Orleans, Tank and the Bangas will headline our festival.

Coming from New Orleans, Tank and the Bangas are surrounded by plenty of grand musical traditions. And the five-piece group has a rare knack for combining various musical styles—fiery soul, deft hip-hop, deep-groove R&B and subtle jazz—into one dazzling, cohesive whole that evokes the scope of New Orleans music while retaining a distinctive feel all its own.

Tricia Boutté for Fringe Jazz Fest 2018

Tricia “Sista Teedy” Boutté will perform at this years edition of Fringe Jazz Fest. She will be featured with Jazz Five and other bands during the whole festival starting July 6th. We are looking so much forward. Tricia Boutté is from the most know music family in New Orleans and she has performed with artist like Allen Toussaint, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, D’Angelo, Ellis Marsalis, Shannon Powell, Franklin, Irma Thomas, Dr. John, Steel Pulse and Fats Domino. Meschiya Lake returns to Fringe Jazz Fest

Our favourite power women from New Orleans visited Fringe Jazz Fest 2016 and we cannot wait to have her back. Probably the most charismatic and powerfull singer from New Orleans these days. She will exclusively play with DK's finest young traditional jazzband, Brassflavour.

About JBL Music

JBL Music presents the BEST of young funky New Orleans music from Denmark and New Orleans. The company is promoting a handfull of bands and international artist and is also organizing some of the BIGGEST New Orleans music events in Copenhagen
There is a wave of young Danish bands inspired by the new sounds from New Orleans. FUNKY brass band, Mardi Gras indian music and 2nd line grooves are now a big part of the Danish jazz scene and JBL Music is presenting some of the best bands in Denmark playing these styles and organizes MAIN events in Copenhagen related to this style of music.
JBL Music is run by musicians and jazz entrepreneur and organizer Johan Bylling Lang. He was born 1981 in Denmark and started playing music as 13 years old and graduated as Cand. musicae and saxophonist and music teacher 2008 from Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium (RMC) in Copenhagen. While making a living as musician in various bands, Johan Bylling Lang also puts alot of love and energy into organizing events.
